Workplace Investigations & Workplace Mediation For Over 20 Years
I love to investigate so much I earned the nickname “Miss Marple”! Whether a legal question or a staff disciplinary problem, I love investigating and getting to the root of the issue. I wanted to help solve issues too and this led me to serving over 10 years as a Restorative Justice mediator.
I have provided strategic Employee Relations leadership at the Director level in multi-site, unionized environments for over 20 years. I’m inspired by bringing employee groups, work teams and management teams together through strengthened relationships.
After earning my MBA at Athabasca University, I continued my studies with a Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution at York University. I was recently awarded the designation of Qualified Mediator with the ADR Institute of Canada and obtained my license as a Private Investigator.
I think the Workplace Violence and Harassment provisions in the Occupational Health and Safety Act are good for business – think about it. If businesses follow the Act the outcome is a blueprint for respectful workplaces where all staff feel safe and valued. How good is that?
Through CoAct, I offer independent Workplace Investigations and can ensure your business has met the legislative requirement of the OHSA in respect to Workplace Violence and Harassment.
Workplace conflict is often an pre-cursor to violence and harassment. It has a detrimental effect on productivity and customer service. Using transformative mediation processes, I can help your teams reach agreement and restore a positive work environment.
